i think my DPF is gone and now i’m not sure what to do…

car has consistently had a long crank but has developed into crank with no start. i have a the codes for the DPF and the EGR, p2002 and p0401.

so i am at a loss here.

while i know deleting the DPF is ultimately better for the car for mpgs and reliability but i dont know if i can justify the downsides.

i dont live in a particularly strict part of the country when it comes to emissions but i worry my insurance would deem my car “not road worthy” if anything would happen.

so im leaning towards replacing it but if anyone know of a decently priced way of putting a custom one i would prefer that. i’d expect to tune it for that.

for reference, the only kit i’ve found is $2800 for exhaust and tune. is that reasonable?
