As a newcomer, the farmer’s market sucked.
I do come from a smaller town, where the local farmers market is cheap, easy to walk through, and has humble small businesses.
Wow with DSM farmers market! Yes, I know it’s still early so it’s busy. But 1) I could not even look at most of the booths as I was stuck in the wave of people most of the time. 2) prices were ridiculous at some of the booths. What do you mean $10 for a donut??? What do you mean $20 for strawberries and chocolate in a cup??? I suppose I am not mentally caught up with the new prices. 3) people’s dogs really got out of control. Too many people think their misbehaved dogs are okay to bring in this environment. 4) people are awful in these types of environments. I saw people get out of a car and fight each other in traffic. People shoving others to get ahead. Busy times bring out the worst in people. 5) 60% of the items at the farmer’s market was AI, or total consumerism type products.
Anyways, I will try to go in a couple of months when it hopefully winds down but today I am drained from it! And any nearby, quieter market recommendations are needed!!
