Hey guys, I’m looking for some advice.
My background is that I got halfway through a nursing degree but didn’t complete it due to complications with the school. I tried to go back the following year, but they wouldn’t credit what I’d already done and said I’d have to start over. So I moved on, completed a PCA course, and worked in that role for four years. After that, I trained as an OTT (operating theatre technician) and have been doing that for the past six years.
I’m really not enjoying it as much as I used to im actually quite miserable at work and I feel ready for something new. I’m not sure I want to go back to nursing, but paramedicine definitely interests me. I’m already used to 12-hour shifts and working in a hospital environment, including being around surgeries every day, so I do have experience in the industry.
I’m almost 35, but I got a really low ATAR in high school—would that still affect me as a mature-age student?
