I'm sure I'm not the only one that's questioning the loyalty of these flying degenerates. I've been bombed by them on MULTIPLE occasions when there wasn't an enemy IN SIGHT! Or ran away from the first strike, only to have the enemy either jump a long distance to where I am either from a Leaping bug from 20 meters away, or the Jet Brigade with the bots, or being run down by an Illuminate MECH Crab for the EAGEL STORM TO FOLLOW THEM ultimately bombing me anyways even though I tried getting out of the initial "Bombing Zone".
And the worst part of it all, there's no ground animation designating where they are about to strike! Yet, the Illuminate, OUR "ENEMY" has a ground animation indicating where they are about to Air Stike. Does ANY OF THIS even make sense AT ALL???
It's only gotten worse, especially now since the "Spore Strain" of bugs basically has entire hordes of them RIGHT on your ass CONSTANTLY. Also, the "Jet Brigade" of bots swarming you too, as well as the Cyborgs being Olympic runners. The Illuminate have always kind of been up your ass with swarming, but worse now. At this point it's almost GUARANTEED you'll die from Eagle Storm at least 4-5 times ALONE in one game, and that's PER DIVER too...And again, I've been hit multiple times WHILE NOTHING was around me in one game, it’s just a total dumpster fire mechanic that I wish never existed.
But for now, all I can do is NOT contribute samples to activating it, and avoiding the planet ENTIRELY while it IS active. And I'm not just some random nub bashing something I'm unfamiliar with. I have 1,415 hours put into this game, everything unlocked, everything purchased. I've delt with this Airstrike mechanic since DAY ONE, and it is BY FAR the worst part of the game.
This is by far one my most hated parts of the entire game. I can overlook the clunky controls when it comes to crouching & going prone, or climbing over objects that's a 50/50 hit or miss if it'll work or not WHEN IT SHOULD. But these Air Strikes...are TOTAL horse $%#&, and EVERYONE knows it.
