What if Portugal Colonized Newfoundland. Terra Nova and its Politics in 1936.

Terra Nova was first colonized in the early 1500s by the Corte Real family and was similar to Brazil in how they gave Portugal a lot of wood. Basques and Frenchmen also came to Terra Nova, with the French occupying northwestern Terra Nova until the end of the Seven Year's War, Portugal fought on the British side. In 1820 Terra Nova adopted a Constitutional Monarchy style of rule and had a Governor General and a Regent (his son) with a Congresso Colonial. In 1910 the Portuguese Royal family went into exile and Terra Nova became the Kingdom of Terra Nova, in 1918 King João I (who had ruled for 4 years after the death of King José Luciano de Castro Pereira Corte Real died in 1914) was assassinated by a communist while riding with his wife inside of a 1910 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost gifted to him on a birthday. After the King's death a new King named King Pedro I ruled for 5 years until a Republic was declared in 1923 by Júlio Silva the leader of the PSDTN or PSDT party. The Territories of São João and Nova Galiza recently became states after the presidency of Marcio Ferreira, of PCSTN, who was also VP to Silva. The current president is Duarte Meneses of PSDTN/PSDT who won the 1935 Election.
