I recently lost my dog of 15 years, that I’ve quite literally grown up with. I raised her from a puppy and she was my rock. I find myself a little bit more lost and feeling uneasy these days since she has passed.

Long story short she got unexpectedly sick and after a few visits to the ER and no signs of her getting better. The vet suggested we humanely euthanize her. Now this has been one of the most difficult things I’ve been dealing with. I have severe anxiety and she just had a special way of being there and comforting me.

I feel so guilty about the choice we made and wonder if I should’ve kept fighting for her. My heart still aches and it’s been a few months since she’s been gone. Any reading on if she’s okay? If I made the right decisions and ultimately ended her life at the right time with respect and dignity?
