Hi everyone, I wanted to share a model I recently designed: a windmill inspired by the legendary Vought F4U Corsair. The whole model was created in Fusion 360, from the first sketch to the final assembly.
The idea was to combine the iconic silhouette of the Corsair with a functional wind spinner, so the propeller can rotate freely with the wind. The model includes the aircraft body, the connecting tube, and a clamp-style base, all designed as separate parts to make printing and assembly easier.
For the print, I used Bambu Lab PLA Matte. The propeller and cockpit area need small supports, but overall it was designed to be easy to print and assemble with instant glue. It can be used as a decorative piece for indoors, outdoors, or even hung from a ceiling.
I also edited the outdoor presentation images with a local AI on my own computer to improve the visual quality while keeping my privacy protected.
I’d love to hear what you think, especially if you have suggestions for other aircraft or wind-powered designs I could try next.
