Okay so this ones a doozy for me. For context, I am a jewelry artist, and I work with beads. Those beads lay in a brick pattern, not in straight lines, so I had to custom format smaller cells merged together to get the brick pattern, and that is non negotiable (unless yall have a better solution to the brick pattern but that parts not the problem).

Problem: I want to be able to manually add a color to the pictured "1" (which is actually 2 cells merged d2:e2) and have that SAME color automatically output to cell "2" (h2:i2). I've tried conditional formatting but I just can't seem to get it right. Is this possible, and if so, how? Thank you in advance for your big brains.
