Good morning, Crowmies! I'm in Pennsylvania and I realize it is nesting season, but my heart is really hurting and I would love some comfort from this community!
I'll try to be short. I've been feeding Crow Jane (mainly) and her partner Mystery for over a year. The last week I saw her, she sat on my deck every morning in her usual spot waiting for me to bring out her meatball and other small offerings. Mystery kept watch in his usual spot and then they would take off together. Occasionally, there is a third crow in the tree with them, but I am unsure of it's relation.
And now they are just gone. I've been talking with Gemini about it, who I'm sure has been scouring these reddit posts among other sources to give me all the possibilities. I thought I would have seen Mystery still visiting throughout this time to take food back to a nesting CrowJane, but I haven't. I thought after day 30 I might start to see Jane herself, but I haven't 💔 A couple weeks ago crow activity did increased in my area, but I don't know who they are. They surely aren't responding to my calls or my food like the 2 crows I've come to love so dearly.
Yesterday, 2 stopped in to eat, and 1 was "Mystery shaped" and was the other Jane? Is this the third crow, and it's a helper? I know you don't have the answers for sure, but I'm terrified something awful happened to her and she'll never come back to me 💔 I'm
