I booked an apartment in Pune last month after extensive negotiations with the sales team. Everything seemed on track until we received the final agreement draft for signing this week.

While reviewing the draft, I noticed the developer shifted the possession date by 6 months compared to RERA and shown in the initial booking kit. They didn't even mention the change .I caught it myself during the review. The developer is saying they are in process to get the extension from RERA.

This delay completely disrupts my financial planning, as I’ll be stuck paying both pre-EMI interest and rent for nearly half a year longer than expected.

Questions for the community:

  1. Is this a common tactic with builders in Pune?

  2. Should I refuse to sign until they revert to the original date, or is there a legal way to hold them to the initial timeline?

Appreciate any leads on how to handle these
