I've been looking for something that could serve as a carry-on suitcase while traveling, but turn into a secure storage container once I'm at my destination. I was thinking of something like the 1510, with 2 good padlocks and then something like a Kryptonite Evolution bicycle chain, each padlock going through the case holes and a link on the chain, then the chain securing around something in the hotel room (radiator, bedframe, etc.)

Is this a common use for these cases? And would you consider the 1510 and 1535 to be equally sturdy for the task? I'm thinking in spite of the "Vault" name, the V525 is less sturdy, based on the price and on not having the metal reinforcement on the padlock holes.
