30YO Male
So I had horrible symptoms from August 2025 up til I had my endoscopy/colonoscopy in March 2026. Upper ab pain, headaches, back pain, loose stools(with weird colors), sigmoid colon pinching, tenesmus, hot flashes, bloating, stomach cramping. Went to the doctor over a half a dozen times from November 2025 through Feb 2026, got referred to a GI specialist who agreed to setup a colonoscopy/endoscopy and got diagnosed when I woke up, thankfully no masses, polyps or anything found in colon but confirmed patchy inflammation in the duodenum and stomach.
I am currently on Pantoprazole 40MG and have been for about 6-7 days now, stomach acid is definitely lower, but dealing with extra bloating/gas and constipation plus random non severe pain throughout my body(was way worse with famotidine 20mg). In addition I take Slippery Elm not long after Pantoprazole, since Panto makes me more bloated/gassy I've added magnesium glycinate 300-400mg to help relax the muscles and it seems to help. I'll be adding ginger powder to my diet next week to help deal with the discomfort after eating. Is there anything else I should add that you think has helped you heal faster?
Things that HAVE changed since my diagnosis a few months ago. I no longer have tenesmus, I don't have to sit for a long time or awkwardly on the toilet to pass stool, stool is consistently soft but fully formed and a consistent brown color, I may have a hot flash once a month now compared to every day, no more pain in the lower colon, the pain in my abdomen may happen for an hour or two throughout the day as opposed to 24/7. Lower back pain appears to be related to trapped gas (maybe?), I've had all imaging done and it shows nothing there, it also manifests when I'm laying on my side, never when I'm walking or running. Sleep has been maybe 7-8/10 most days. This thing hasn't seemed to interrupt my sleep schedule which I'm thankful for and I'm able to go out and eat with family and friends without fear (obviously avoiding spicy food, soda and alcohol). What I'm getting at is I've seen an improvement from where I started but I still don't feel near the person I used to be (maybe 70-80% most days) and would love to hear some success stories if any..
