Will Arma 4 feature better indoor mechanics??
I know the focus of Arma is on combined arms over a large sandbox and has to allow for everything from foot movement to advance helicopter flight models.
But the one thing sorely lacking was the buildings and indoor gameplay. Some of them are either entire unnavigable to NPCs and cause them to just walk through walls. Some of them are accessible to NPCs but they are absolutely clueless how to fight indoors. Not really fun fighting dudes that are standing completely still because otherwise they'll start behaving very erratically.
This question probably gets brought up 12 times a month but I'm bored and also curious about the future. I haven't played Reforger so I don't know how things are in that game. But the other thing that bothers me about buildings in Arma 3 is that they are entirely featureless. No beds, no tables, no chairs. There are Zeus/Eden tools for adding clutter, but in modes like Antistasi it's hard to get that going across the map.
Totally aware of all the technical limitations this kind of thing faces, but wondering if we've come far enough to expect furniture inside of buildings. And more accessible buildings - no more office buildings where the only interior is stairs leading to the roof!
Do you care about indoor mechanics in Arma? Would you sacrifice something else to have better interiors? Should I just be playing Ready or Not? Do I need to find another hobby? Let me know what you think!
