I feel like 5-1 is our best window into it, having buildings + solid rock to stand on, but it does make me wonder what it used to be like under the sea in 5-2 through 5-4 (I know we're in the abyss at the start of 5-4, but for all we know that ridge we walk on could've used to been a mountain range above an even deeper abyssal plain).

Could there have been a swamp like Dante's Infero? Smaller cities with architecture like the bell tower in 5-1? An endless muddy plain drenched in eternal rain? It's definitely obliterated under the Ocean Styx's pressure now, and anything that did survive that probably got wrecked by the Leviathan, but it is fun to wonder.
