The video was mostly blurred but the voices are still original so maybe that is what was flagged?

Also, it was from a police body cam, so it was open record. It was in a public space (outside a cafe in the parking lot), it did not reveal any address, financial info, personal info.

There was no violence, children/minors etc. It was merely a verbal altercation.

So can anyone rightfully make a privacy claim and have their video taken down under these circumstances? I could understand if it was in a private space (home) or revealing sensitive information, but just someone's face or voice in a public space is eligible for privacy complaint takedown?

So then why have all these other videos online that have ruined people's careers and lives couldn't be removed for the same reasons as privacy complaints cuz it shows their face or voice? It seemed like a lot of videos were permanently on the internet unable to be deleted or removed forever.

If it's this easy to have video removed by simply complaining of privacy, then the saying that "once on the internet forever on the internet" is totally untrue. Celebrities or well-known people can easily file privacy complaints and have all youtube videos of them taken down?

My situation didn't even involved a celeb or well-known...just your average person.

Some other things I found on the net:

It is open record.  The exceptions of "minors or victims of violent crimes or part of an active investigation" all do not apply to this video.

Privacy laws generally do not protect individuals in public spaces, where there is little to no "reasonable expectation of privacy"
