Hi everyone! I’m starting a practical nursing program in about 3 months, and I wanted to ask for advice on what I can start doing now to prepare.

I’ve heard that critical thinking is really important in nursing, so I’ve been trying to practice that in small ways already. I also want to build good study habits before school starts.

What would you recommend focusing on before starting? Are there any books, resources, or skills you think are helpful to learn ahead of time (like medical terminology, dosage calculations, etc.)?

I’d really appreciate any advice from current or former students. Thank you!
