do you ever think about how HR vendors treat their own employees??
had someone on my team push back on a leave decision this week. nothing heated, just asked how we actually landed on the number. and i realized the answer was basically “it’s what our HR/payroll provider suggests”.
saying that out loud felt… thin.
so i went to sanity check what that company does internally, just so i could stand behind it a bit more. ended up finding a mix of stuff, some normal reviews, but also a couple threads + articles mentioning people having a pretty rough experience around parental leave. layoffs right after, roles changing while they were out, that kind of thing.
no idea how representative that is, but it definitely didn’t match how clean and confident everything looks inside the product. now i’m kind of stuck with the fact that i made a call affecting someone on my team based on that framework.
do you all ever look into that side of vendors or just treat it as separate from the tool itself??
and yes, we def will be looking for a new tool.
