Has productivity culture become toxic among students?

Has productivity culture become toxic among students?

I’ve noticed that a lot of students seem trapped in this mindset of always needing to be productive...(especially recently in sg??) studying every free moment, taking on endless extracurriculars, doing internships/projects, and feeling guilty whenever they’re resting. like being busy has become a measure of worth.

At the same time, some people argue that this pressure is just reality, especially in our competitive society, and that discipline is necessary to succeed.

Do you think productivity culture actually motivates students to improve, or has it become unhealthy? Have you personally felt pressured to always “do more,” even when you were already tired?

really curious to hear different opinions, whether you agree or disagree. pls backup with arguments.
