Hi there, I used to love EastEnders back in the day. I've started watching and I'm a few months behind at present just wanted to share some thoughts.
- Zoe
They missed a huge opportunity. Massive. Jasmine asked Zoe for advice a few times in the pub, with Zoe usually brushing her off, the final scene should have gone like this:
Zoe: Look, I ain't your muvva.
Jasmine: Yes, you are! (Delivered calmly)
Boom. Give me the writing job.
- Max
I loved original Max, and I'm talking his original stint. Teen daughters who he struggled to parent, cheeky salesman on the car lot, hot tub with Ian Beale, he did have a certain charm and he was fun on screen. I feel like for a long time the writers haven't understood his original character. I'm slightly plagiarising another comment I saw on this subreddit but max was essentially a family man who occasionally made life shattering mistakes.
The current Max, constantly makes life shattering mistakes and is occasionally a family man. It just makes him completely unlikable imho.
The only reason woman liked him was because he had some charm. Making him a compete tool all the time makes it completely unbelievable that any woman, let alone more than one, would be attracted to him.
Anyway, just my thoughts at 11pm on a Thursday. I might stick with the show a bit longer, I'd like to see the conclusion to Nigel's story.
