I purchased a dummy LP-E17 battery and it just arrived today. I have not put it into my camera. I tested it with 2 different power banks and it reads 8.8v or 8.85v. I definitely won’t use it and don’t want to damage my camera.

Has anyone else got experience with this or has any recommendations on cheap dummy batteries?

If there aren’t any safe/reliable options then I’ll probably buy 2 original batteries for £110.
