Hi All - planning a trip to Yellowstone/Teton the first week of June with my wife and 10, 8, and 6 year old. I really want to try to incorporate Beartooth but wondering if I am packing too much into a day to make it work. I won't go into the rest of the trip outside of days 1 and 2 as I think that may be when I plan to do it.
Day 1: Flying into Bozeman, get a cooler and some necessary snacks/lunch food and head to Mammoth for a 1 night stay in a cabin. Explore mammoth springs and the local area.
Day 2: Up early for departure to hit Lamar Valley early. Keep heading east to do all/some of the Beartooth highway. Turn around and drive back to hit Canyon Village area on the way to West Yellowstone for our accomodations for the next 2 nights.
Should I just skip Beartooth and head back to Canyon Village on the way to West Yellowstone Day 2? If we decide to do Beartooth, is there maybe a logical midway point we can do part of the drive and turnaround? Thanks for advice.
