Because the pixels in 1440p (QHD) are not an exact multiple of 1080p (Full HD), a 1440p monitor cannot use the clean "4 pixels to draw 1" method (like a 4K monitor does perfectly when displaying 1080p). Instead, it has to scale the image in a way that results in a slight blur or "dirty" look.

In gaming we can solve this by simply using FSR. But what about 1080p videos? Or games that have no FSR support and tops at 1080p rendering?

I'm considering upgrading from an AOC 24G2 to a XG27ACS. The main reason is 1440p and 27' display. Is this a good idea? I play mostly For Honor, and watch a lot of 1080p movies.
