Just to clarify, Im not in this situation, so I don’t need advice. My dog is crate trained and he’s also not crated at home anyway. Im only asking because I imagine just locking them in there suddenly causes a lot of distress, but if you want to build it up properly, that takes a lot of time of not leaving them in the crate for distressing durations. Which is obviously a problem if you need them crated while gone for work, and you have to bribe them, or force them, into a cage every day, or even twice a day if at night too. How are people crate training dogs and going to work?
