In DaVinci Resolve Fusion, why does this setup not display correctly?

Background1 + Grid1 → Merge1 → MediaOut1

• Background connected to yellow input
• Grid connected to green input

But if I do:

Background1 → Grid1 → MediaOut1

it works perfectly with the same Grid settings.

Is the Grid node opaque by default or does it handle alpha differently when used with Merge?

NOTE: I’m using DaVinci Resolve 20 on Ubuntu.
