3rd Year Over, no skills, no internship - what should I do?

Hello everyone,

I’m a third-year student at CSDA East Campus, and since our third year is almost over, we’re required to complete a 6-week internship.

The problem is—I genuinely don’t know how to get one at this point. I feel really stuck and honestly a bit overwhelmed. I’ve done around 300 questions on LeetCode and covered most DSA topics, but I wouldn’t say I’m very confident or proficient yet. Apart from that, I only know basic HTML and CSS, so I don’t really have strong development skills either.

Seeing everyone around me getting internships or at least being confident about their skills is making me feel even more anxious. I feel like I’m falling behind, and I don’t know what the right step is from here.

Can someone please guide me on how to actually get an internship? What is the process—where should I apply, how should I prepare, and what do companies usually expect at this stage? If possible, can someone even help me or refer me for any opportunity?

I also had a few questions:

How can I realistically get an internship with my current skill set?

Is it okay or even possible to take a “dummy” internship just to fulfill the requirement, and use the next 2–3 months to actually build skills properly before placements?

What should I focus on right now so I don’t mess up my placement season?

I’m honestly feeling quite lost and stressed about this whole situation. Any guidance, suggestions, or even honest advice would really mean a lot right now.
