Has anyone else had to deal with their pet showing their age and health issues. I love living alone but I'm not sure I know how to take this road alone, my dog is my everything. Please tell me how you handle/d it, because I'm already realizing this is going to be one of the hardest rides of my life.

Edit: Thank you so much for all of the replies. I woke up to so much camaraderie and it made me feel so much less alone. I wish all of you and your sweet animals comfort and peace, even when it gets difficult. I am sobbing my way through the comments. It really is the price we pay for such beautiful, pure love.
