I remember never finishing this book, but towards the end of one of the first chapters there’s a few paragraphs that tells the story of a girl who lives near a mystical forest, and she goes to the forest and falls in love with the wolf, then when the village discovers it, she swallows the wolf whole to keep it safe. But the wolf isn’t meant to be inside her and it claws and howls until it eventually eats her heart. I cannot find it anywhere with all the “inner wolf” books now 😭
