PX8 / PX8 S2
I know there have been many posts on this topic but thought I’d add my 2 cents.
I ordered a pair of PX8s from Amazon Resale. They were £250 for “used - very good”. Apart from a few marks on the box, I couldn’t see any sign of use. They’re like new.
I also ordered some PX8 S2s for £520.
From A/B testing, I’m personally struggling to justify the extra cost of the S2s. They’re undoubtedly better in most ways. I’m no audiophile but they sound more dynamic, exciting, tighter. That said, the PX8 is no slouch and has a lovely, warm sound to it.
Obviously all of this is very subjective and down to listeners preference. Both are very very capable headphones.
I had some PX7s and the step up is noticeable. The finish/use of materials is an improvement in the PX8 range.
