I can’t tell if my house wren is upset with the camera or trying to get used to it. Anyone have a similar situation or weigh in?
I have a house wren who started putting some sticks in the nest box last week but is very suspicious/curious about the camera. At the end of most recordings it flies up and tilts its head and pecks at the camera. It’s been almost a full week of this behavior. They have been very particular with each stick and has only put a few in and even then moves the same sticks around a lot. Sometimes they throw it out the box and won’t add another stick until the next day. It’s not much of a nest at the end of the week only a few sticks.
I’m not sure if it’s just upset it can’t move the camera like it does with the sticks or if the camera is disrupting its nesting behavior? Will the bird end up getting used to the camera? Or is this expected behavior for a house wren?
Any insight is appreciated, thanks!
