“The story income, details”
Skip to bottom if you don’t want to read all of our finacial details. Everyone ask the details I’ve listed so wanted to be as detailed as possible..
My wife and I are pulling the trigger on a "soft retirement" likely later this year! She’s retiring permanently, and I’m dropping down to a 3-day work week (Tues-Thurs). The best part? I’m keeping full time benefits medical, 401k
(6% match), and 10% ESPP at a stable Fortune 500 company
Between my $5k/month take home and our $4k - $5k expenses, we are essentially break even. Well with my wife still technically working that money is getting thrown into the inherited CMA account which is a couple grand a month….
However, we want to level up our lifestyle more travel, nice dinners, and frequent staycations. And of course taking care of kids and down the road grand Babies
Our Cash- $25k in HYSA + $90k in personal CMAs (standard 3 fund setup). And checking accounts. My ESPP account has about 40K in it right now
-Retirement- $670k and growing Fast 401ks/Roths (won't touch for 10+ years) but they are Roths even the 401Ks, so we could technically take some of the distributions out if needed, I just learned about this
Inheritance money - 175k Inherited Roth (10 year rule, 8 years left) to take everything out. “Which we will be putting this money in the inheritance CMA slowly”
The inhereted CMA- $750k currently just basic (Growth/S&P 500/Qs/ international) portfolio
The Challenge- Why I’m here is ……..
I want to transform that $750k CMA into a powerhouse income engine that balances high yield with dividend growth. I’m a fan of the NEOS funds (QQQI, SPYI, IWMI) for that tax efficient monthly income, but I also want solid compounders and some diversification. REITs, BDCs, Dividend growth beasts
If you were building a dream income portfolio with $750K today to fund a luxury semi retirement, how would you slice it?
I'm currently looking at
-High Yield/Income: SPYI, QQQI, GPIQ and maybe some BDCs. Main, ARCC?
-Dividend Growth: V, MA, WM, PG, JNJ.
-Diversification: A few high quality REITs or Mid caps? Looking at VICCI, O, and ADC
-My Goal: Maximize monthly cash flow without completely eroding the principal, so we can travel the world while the other $900k+ in our retirement accounts stays on autopilot.
What’s the "perfect" allocation here? also any other suggestions??
