Two sweeps in a row, we look undisciplined at the plate, and the coaching staff has lost us at least 1 game on this road trip. Im personally not sold on Vitello, but at very least, the hitting coaches need to go.
There is no way our offense should be this bad, and when it feels like literally everyone is having bad at bats, you have to start questioning what kind of coaching the lineup is getting.
Schmitt showed signs of making the leap last year, but now he’s really cooking. He looks extremely comfortable at the plate, and we’ve desperately needed someone like this to keep our offense afloat while our stars figure out their early season woes. Considering his additional fielding skills (maybe not at 1st base lol) this guy could be a star in the making.
I know hes made some mistakes this season at 1st and on the base paths, but I believe this guy is going to keep growing, just as he has at the plate.
