Is it worth it to quit trucking driving to take the opportunity to use VRE benefits to go to school for a new career? I am 46. Truck driving is enjoyable for the going places seeing things factor. The pay is good. I got approved for VRE but I missed a deadline so I have to reapply but counselor said I am already approved its just a formality to wake up my approval. Taking the chance to be home all the time no more month or 2 out at a time sounds nice. But the transition from good pay to just my VA compensation (which i am very greatful for). The one check a month. It will cover my bills easily but the stress is the time it will take to get a new career established. Has anyone struggled with a decision like this before?
