[HELP] finding a poem
First time posting in this sub, but I’m looking for a poem that I read in high school English class. I believe it was by a male poet, and as far as I know he wasn’t particularly well known. It was very impactful to me at the time, and I thought I remembered a few of the lines, but I’ve been completely unable to find it online. What I remember is:
There is a repeated phrase that I thought was something like “the best way to fall in love is ___,” but he describes different ways of committing suicide. Some of the examples that I can partly recall involve driving fast down a dark road and swallowing something with a (maybe strong?) drink.
Towards the end, there was a line that I really liked that was something like “now it is winter in the body” (or maybe blood).
I would think that if even one of those memories is correct, it would’ve come up in a Google search, but I have turned up absolutely nothing. If anybody recognizes this, please let me know — it’s driving me crazy!
Edit: Solved, In a Beautiful Country by Kevin Prufer.
