Hey all — hoping to get some real-world input from other parents.
We’re in East Pierce County WA and looking into myopia management for our 8-year-old. I’m willing to drive ~30 minutes or so if it’s worth it.
The thing that’s throwing me off is the pricing. I’m seeing a huge range for what seems like pretty similar services — anywhere from about $800/year up to $2,800/year. That’s a big spread, and some of the higher-priced places feel a little… sales-y for what they’re offering.
Just trying to get a gut check on what’s actually reasonable here. • What did you end up paying (first year vs ongoing)? • What route did you go (contacts like MiSight, ortho-k, atropine, etc.)? • Did you feel like the more expensive options were worth it? • Any local providers you had a really good (or bad) experience with?
Totally fine driving a bit since it’s not like we’ll be going all the time — just don’t want to overpay if this is something that should be more standardized.
Appreciate any input.
