Driving from Santa Teresa to fortuna. Cop in the middle of the road waiving me down to pull over. The way he was doing it made me assume there was an accident or something ahead. He comes up to the window and claims I passed someone in a non pass zone and it’s a 700+ tickets but he was willing to settle for 200 cash. I opened my wallet to only 40 bucks in cash which he happily took.

Is this common? He was super nice and friendly, but I was in no place to argue with him as we were in the middle of nowhere, he had a gun, and spoke zero English.
