Right Person, Wrong Time
Why do I do this to myself?
I knew there was no chance
For you to fill the massive hole
That ruptured my heart
But when I look at you,
How could I say no?
Those eyes say more than a thousand words
And leave me wanting more.
But life has other plans for me.
I know I am strong
But loneliness is a different beast,
That we could have beaten together.
When I’m with you,
The inner demons seem to disappear
But come back stronger when we say goodbye.
Leaving me emptier each time.
And yet I kept seeing you
Fully aware of how my mind works,
Wondering if the short-term bliss
Was worth the long-term woe.
