Best water supply pipe connector for toilet
I’m replacing a toilet and the bidet needed a female connector close to the wall so instead of an adapter I removed the male connector and soldered on a female connector (scorch marks even through the protector but I learned to lower the flame putting the new one on).
However, having a very small leak at junction from brass female to the bidet connector with the plumbers tape.
Should I be adding a washer to the female brass fitting?
I read maybe plumbers tape is not great here is that right?
Should I not be soldering on a connector and instead use a compression fitting to the main copper pipe? Reading maybe that’s more typical these days than solder.
Thanks in advance appreciate any help
