I was just talking to a close friend who works at a local learning center. They mentioned that the teachers/instructors(?) are expected to buy their own classroom supplies, things like sensory bins, crafts and activities, and classroom decorations. Is this true for other folks in this sector? And parents, were you aware of this?

Without assistance, my childcare would cost $1,200+ per month per kid, and with assistance I'm still spending around $3-400/mo per kid and had no idea they pass these costs along to the instructors. Where does this money go, if they're paying the teachers $13-15/hr?
