4 finals in 3 months. 4 rejections. every time the feedback is some version of "really strong, we just went with someone who felt like a closer fit." cool. thanks. very useful.

started recording my practice answers last week and i think i clocked the problem. everything i say could be said by any other person sitting in that chair. "i'm a strong communicator." "i love cross-functional work." it's like reading from the candidate handbook. i know i bring something specific. i can feel it when i'm doing the actual work. i just cant get it out of my mouth in an interview without it turning into the same boilerplate everyone else is reciting back at the panel.

how do you actually sound like a specific person when the skill list on every resume in that pile looks basically identical?
