I’m talking about games you downloaded with super low expectations just to “try for 10 minutes” and then suddenly ended up putting 50+ hours into it.

For me it was Mad Max. I thought it would just be another repetitive movie game but the combat, driving and atmosphere were actually insanely fun. The desert storms and car upgrades had me hooked for days.

Another one was Sleeping Dogs. Expected a cheap GTA clone, ended up getting one of the best hand-to-hand combat systems I’ve played.

Curious what games surprised other people the most. Could be indie, AAA, old or new.

I’m talking about games you downloaded with almost zero expectations and somehow ended up putting dozens of hours into.

For me it was probably Sleeping Dogs. I expected a generic GTA-style game but the combat, story and atmosphere were way better than I thought. Ended up finishing the whole thing in a few days.

Would love to hear everyone else’s unexpected favorites because I’m running out of games to try 😭
