Hey folks, long-time lurker, first-time poster. Wanted to share my journey and genuinely get some perspective from people who've been here.

I joined in March 2021 as a Test Engineer Trainee at ₹2.74 LPA. No prior experience, fresh out of college. Fast forward 4 years — I never switched jobs, grew purely through appraisals, and I'm currently at ₹11.5 LPA.

Here's how the journey looked year by year:

Year Salary (LPA) Growth

Mar 2021 ₹2.74 Starting

Mar 2022 ₹5.00 +82%

Mar 2023 ₹6.80 +36%

Mar 2024 ₹9.50 +40%

Mar 2025 ₹11.50 +21%

Fluor (Jun 2025) ₹17.00 + 10–20% bonus +48%

Overall that's a +520% jump from my starting salary — and my first switch ever is happening in June to fluor (Fortune 500, EPC company). Based in Vadodara.

🤔 Questions I have for the community:

  1. Does this growth trajectory look healthy, or did I leave money on the table by not switching sooner?

  2. Is Fluor Corporation a good brand for long-term career in India? Anyone worked there?

  3. The bonus is 10–20% variable — how reliable are these usually at large MNCs?

  4. Vadodara cost of living is low — is ₹17 LPA genuinely comfortable there or am I overestimating?

  5. Any red flags I should watch for before joining a Fortune 500 for the first time?

I know loyalty gets mocked a lot in this sub, but honestly Rishabh gave me a solid foundation. No regrets — just ready for the next chapter. Would love raw, honest takes. ?
