Thank you Pigeon Pit

Now that I finally have a chance to sit and collect my thoughts after the 650mile solo journey around the Midwest catching all the Pigeon Pit shows I could. I wanted to take a moment to thank this community and all of the incredible bands and artists that I have been introduced to along the way.

A week ago I was dealing with a lot of heavy stuff with personal relationships on top of struggling to find myself after recently coming out as trans. I thought to myself that I should atleast go catch a show from one of my favorite bands. I didn’t realize that decision would lead me head first into such a warm and inspiring community.

From Indy, to my first time at Stoopfest, and finally Chicago. Every show crammed into a space full of strangers just being their authentic selves with reckless abandon. It was such an eye opening experience and something I am forever grateful to have been a part of. For a moment I no longer felt as alone as I had been, and I will cherish the memories I made over the last few days forever.

Once again thank you so much to Pigeon Pit, it really does feel like I’ve been to a world worth living in.

-Erin

(Also a special thank you to my best friend Jamie for pushing me to step outside of my comfort zone and go for it)

(One more small note, my whole body feels bruised and I couldn’t be happier about that. A testament to the very literal impact yall had on me.)
