I’ve recently finished my Cert II in Electrotechnology and I’m looking to land an apprenticeship.
I’ve been prescribed CBD and THC oil for a few medical reasons and it’s been working really well for me. I’m just trying to get a clearer picture of how drug and alcohol testing works across different parts of the electrical industry here in Australia. like how common it is, what types of tests are used, and whether it varies between domestic, commercial, industrial, mining, etc.
Just to be clear, I’m not trying to dodge anything or look for ways around testing I just want to be informed so I know what to expect going into the industry and how to handle things properly.
If anyone’s got experience or insight (especially around medicinal cannabis and employers), I’d really appreciate hearing it.
