NoBroker scammed me with a ₹8.8k plan for NRI tenants – zero service, now asking for more money 🤦♂️
I honestly didn’t expect this level of mis-selling from NoBroker, so sharing this here to warn others.
I was looking for a flat in Pune for my friends who are coming from Mauritius for studies. They have OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India), so before doing anything, I clearly informed the NoBroker agent about this.
I spoke to a guy named Rajesh who confidently told me to purchase their ₹8,848 plan. He promised:
- A ground manager will negotiate on our behalf
- A relationship manager (RM) will assist us
- End-to-end support
I double-checked multiple times that this is for OCI / foreign tenants, and he still said everything will be handled.
Based on that, my friends bought the plan.
After payment:
- 3 different RMs got assigned (Suraj, Suhel, Kiran)
- Not a single one contacted us
- We tried calling → unreachable
- No property suggestions till date
Then when I followed up with the same sales guy, he casually says:
“Oh this plan won’t work for NRI/OCI, you need to buy a ₹10k NRI service.”
Like… seriously??
We clearly told everything upfront. If this plan doesn’t support NRI/OCI, why sell it in the first place?
This feels like a pure bait-and-switch:
- Sell a cheaper plan
- Provide zero service
- Then push a more expensive “NRI plan”
Total waste of money and time.
Has anyone else faced something similar with NoBroker?
Also, what’s the best way to get a refund or escalate this? Consumer court? Twitter?
Would appreciate any advice 🙏
