I can't stop buying stuff.

Well, I went for it. I got a HotPaxx 1020 kit with display and now I understand what you guys are on about with the batteries. I got it finished about 10p last night and it ripped. This morning I noticed all the settings were wrong for my battery. So I fixed all the settings and it's just nice now. It was only a couple of throttle twists, but I want that wicked acceleration back. It's almost like I should have listened from the beginning.

Also put on the Curb Hopper shorty brake levers, a properly sized kickstand, and a mirror.

Looks like a battery is in my future.

I'm spending much faster than I wanted to, but it really is worth it overall. I was thinking I need a bigger rear sprocket for better acceleration, but research is leading me to believe I need a brushless kit. Yet again I am trying not to spend more money right away and can't seem to find any other solution.

I need some zip ties to manage all these wires and hoses.

Way more comfortable riding with the lowering brackets from ybe.

So I took a 15 mile ride and will not do that again until I upgrade the safety. Topping out at 20 on purpose, but even still the warped front rotor is beyond terrible. Absolutely wasted the rear brake by favoring it on the way down a mountain. Might have to splurge on wheels, brakes, and front forks sooner than expected.

I've also realized my biggest complaint is the soft start. I don't really want to upgrade the power units yet. I'd much rather blow up the stock motor before that, but it may come soon too. I noticed a bit of smoke from the motor when I stopped at the mountain top for pictures.

I love and hate that the stretch makes the bike feel more stable. It gives so much more confidence when sliding into a turn, but I kinda miss the wackiness of a short wheelbase.

I didn't realize that the longer chain that came with the kit wasn't long enough for a stretch, but a quick trip to Tractor Supply got me riding. I'll worry about getting a nicer chain once I get my preferred settings dialed in. I ordered a 65T sprocket because I want more torque than the 8/58 is giving. We'll see how the top end is affected. I do have a 9,10,and 11 front to play with.

The short battery story is the blue one got refunded so I ordered the black one and the blue one showed up three days later. The black one does have a higher current output. I wanted to be able to swap the batteries without bolts and came up with the spring idea. I'm kinda thinking about wiring them in parallel down the road and seeing what I can blow up. For now they are just going to double my range.

It looks pretty silly with those little wheels...
