Chris Hedges is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and former Middle East bureau chief for the New York Times

Hedges was originally scheduled to deliver this address at the National Press Club of Australia, but the event was abruptly cancelled.

His speech was to focus on the silencing and targeted killing of Palestinian journalists in Gaza. The press club cancelled Hedges and six months later hosted the Israel ambassador to Australia.
