Okay I need some honest opinions because I keep going back and forth on this.

I'm in the market for a car and my budget basically lands me in two very different places:

  • Brand new Chinese car (BYD, Chery, Geely, etc.) — full warranty, modern tech, no previous owners, but the brand reputation is still being written
  • A 5-10 year old Toyota/Honda/Hyundai with 100k+ km on it — proven reliability on paper, but I'm inheriting someone else's maintenance habits and worn parts

The "buy a Toyota and you'll never regret it" advice is everywhere, but that advice was written when those Toyotas were 3 years old, not 10. At some point doesn't a high-mileage Camry become just… an old car with problems?

Meanwhile the new Chinese cars look great on spec sheets and price, but I genuinely don't know how they'll hold up at year 5 or what parts/service look like long-term.

What would you actually pick if it was your money? Anyone here owned both and can compare?

Hello everyone
I'm 28, just came back to Mongolia after finishing my marketing degree in South Korea. I thought having an international degree would help me land a marketing role here, but the job hunt has been way harder than I expected.
Any advice would help?
