Just thought of a “twist” for this old riddle if both magic talking doors alternate who is saying each line
E.G.
“To adventures only one of us tells the truth”
“And only the other one lies”
“Behind one of us is the way out”
“Behind the other death”
“Between you all you get one question on which you all agree to decide the way out”
“No tricks from us or you”
Turns out they are both lying so every line in the riddle is also a lie
Then behind each is a gelatinous cube and the way out is behind that.
I get the feeling you would have to make it very clear that it’s both doors alternating so as to make it ‘fair’ or if you wish to use this and are are feeling unethical then let the pc’s see the way out through the gelatinous cube but not see the cube 😈
