First shot of Zepbound yesterday; queasy
My doctor prescribed Zepbound for weight loss and as an anti-inflammatory to calm my mast cells in my gut. I took my first dose late afternoon yesterday, in the thigh, and was surprised that it hurt! I tried the compounded semaglutide before and I hardly even felt it the needles were so small. I had a reaction with that version. Maybe because this time I did it in my thigh to avoid such a strong reaction this time. I was even more shocked to see a pool of blood when I lifted the pen!
About 15 minutes after the injection I started having this vibration in my muscles and feeling like anxiety under my skin. I immediately took a liquid benadryl and did 5 minutes of box breathing to engage my parasympathetic system and it subsided within 15 minutes. I had an epi-pen on standby but didn't need it. I wonder if it was my mast cells unsure of it all or an adrenalin reaction from the pain and blood.
About my food. I did cut my portions in half last night and this morning and still was queasy every time I ate. I was very hydrated and took a potassium pill yesterday morning. I did have to take an ondansetron last night. I have to remember to not drink water before or after I eat. I will try to just have a high protein snack for lunch maybe?
Any suggestions on what you ate for the first few days that didn't make you queasy? I found success at non-fat, unflavored greek yogurt last night.
