When should someone apply to MIT?

I feel like applying to MIT but I do not know if I should. Right now, I am in basic level classes like AP Chemistry, AP Physics C, Georgia Tech Linear Algebra, Georgia Tech Multivariable Calculus etc as a junior which is pretty normal for my school I think.

My friends though are in Quantum Mechanics, Organic Chemistry, and like Differential Equations and Applied Combinatorics all at Georgia Tech in-person through dual enrollment. Currently I am a junior and my friends are juniors as well.

I wished I tried a little harder in middle school to get to their level but it is what it is. I also have some ECs but I wont mention them here.

After comparing myself, I do not know what to do. Is there an alternative path where I showcase my abilities without it having been academic in nature? I do not want to be in an arms race and sorry if this post seems pick-me. Note this is not a chance-me post, I just want more context about what it takes to get into MIT. The above information is just context about my abilities.
